How Do I.....?

Register


Follow these steps to create a Numo account:

  1. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Enter the mobile phone number that you want to associate with your Numo account. There can be only one phone number per account, so please make sure to add the phone number you use most often.
  3. Enter your first and last name.
  4. Choose a password:
    • Min 8 chars
    • At least 1 lower case alphabet
    • At least 1 digit
  5. Add an answer to the security question.
  6. Click “Next” and wait while we text you a 6-digit security code.
  7. Enter the 6-digit code to activate your account.
Welcome to Numo!




Use Main Menu


Tapping on the burger button in the top left corner of the main screen will show you the main menu. From here you can see the following:

  • Transactions: a detailed list of all Numo transactions you have carried out, be it receiving or sending money, paying merchants or withdrawing cash.
  • Notifications: all the recent activity on your Numo account, for example, you were sent money, got credited an additional balance, successfully completed a transaction.
  • Settings.
You can also initiate all the app’s main functions from the main menu:
  • Send
  • Pay
  • Cash
  • Request
...or choose to:
  • Invite friends - earn referral fees for each friend you refer who signs up for Numo!
  • Learn more about Numo
  • Become a Numo Merchant




Change Settings


Tapping on Settings in the main menu will present you with the following choices:

  • Profile information - here you can add/update your photo, add an email address, subscribe to Numo updates, provide your date of birth.
  • Bank account - you may link a bank account to your Numo account to add and withdraw money from Numo. Linking a bank account is optional.
  • Update ID - this shows the status of your visual identification (the photo of yourself with a piece of ID you upload). It can be approved, in which case you are all set, or it can be denied, in which case please upload a different photo.
  • Security - here you can update your password and the security question.
  • Get assistance - get help from Numo support team.




Profile


Click on Settings to access your profile. Here you can add or update your photo, add an email address, subscribe to Numo updates, specify your date of birth. Important note on profile photos: please make sure to include a photo that clearly shows your face. It will be used for identification purposes, most commonly for withdrawing cash - merchants will need to visually identify you before completing the cash withdrawal transaction.




Use Numo


When you open the Numo app, you will see the map showing your location and all the merchants accepting Numo around you. Below, you will see a selection of the core functions of the app, represented by round orange buttons. Simply tap the one you need! With Numo, you can:

  • Send money
  • Pay a merchant
  • Get cash
  • Request money
  • Refill your Numo wallet
  • Send money to your bank

Send money


Follow these steps to send money to your contacts with Numo:

  1. Tap on “Send” in the main menu or below the map on the main screen;
  2. Select your friend to send money to by typing their name or the phone number;
  3. Enter the amount you would like to send;
  4. Add a note (optional);
  5. Tap the orange arrow button to proceed with the payment;
  6. Use TouchID or enter your Numo password to confirm the transaction.
Done! You will see the amount of money sent, the charges applied and your new balance displayed on the confirmation screen. The transaction will also appear under Transactions in the main menu.




Pay a merchant


Follow these steps when you want to pay with Numo at a participating merchant.

  1. Tap on “Pay” in the main menu or below the map on the main screen;
  2. Select the merchant you would like to pay from the list. The most recent merchant is shown first.
  3. You can also type a merchant name or a merchant code you see posted in the business accepting Numo.
  4. Type in the full amount you need to pay, including taxes and tip (if applicable);
  5. Tap the orange arrow button to proceed with payment;
  6. Use TouchID or enter your Numo password to confirm the transaction.
Done! You will see the amount of money sent, the charges applied (if any) and your new balance displayed on the confirmation screen. The transaction will also appear under Transactions in the main menu




Get cash


Use Numo to withdraw cash at any merchant and skip the annoying ATM fees!

  1. Tap on “Cash” in the main menu or below the map on the main screen;
  2. Toggle the action you would like to perform to “Withdraw”;
  3. Enter the amount you need. This will display the list of merchants in your vicinity that can give you the amount required. Every merchant has different cash reserves on hand. Click on the orange arrow to go to the next step.
  4. The map will show you all the available merchants who can dispense your cash amount. Tap the $ sign pin on the map to view merchant details and select them for the withdrawal.
  5. Tap on “Place withdrawal request” and use your TouchID or Numo password to confirm the request.
  6. You have to complete the transaction within a specific period of time (usually 20 minutes). A timer will start at the top of the screen, clicking on which will show you the details of the request. Most importantly, it will contain the unique code you will need to show to the merchant in order to get cash.
  7. Once you are at the merchant, show them your code. They will confirm the transaction on their end by verifying the code. The first time you do this, you will be required to show picture ID.

Depositing cash


Easily deposit cash to your Numo account at any Numo merchant!

  1. Tap on “Cash” in the main menu or below the map on the main screen;
  2. Toggle the action you would like to perform to “Deposit”;
  3. Enter the amount of the deposit. This will display the list of merchants in your vicinity that can accept the amount required. Click on the orange arrow to go to the next step.
  4. The map will show you all the available merchants who can deposit your cash. Tap the $ sign pin on the map to view merchant details and select them for the deposit.
  5. Tap on “Place deposit request” and use your TouchID or Numo password to confirm the request.
  6. You have to complete the transaction within a specific period of time (usually 20 minutes). A timer will start at the top of the screen, clicking on which will show you the details of the request. Most importantly, it will contain the unique code you will need to show to the merchant in order to complete the transaction.
  7. Once you are at the merchant, show them your code. They will confirm the transaction on their end by verifying the code. The first time you do this, you will be required to show picture ID.

Request money


You can request money from anyone using Numo. They need to have a Numo account in order to send you money. If they do not, they will get a text message inviting them to join Numo so that they can pay you!

  1. Tap on “Request” in the main menu or below the map on the main screen;
  2. Select the contact you want to request money from. If they do not appear on the list, type in their phone number.
  3. Enter the amount you need;
  4. Add a note (optional);
  5. Tap “Request money” to proceed with the request.
  6. Done! Once your contact sends you money, you will get an instant notification. Tap on “Take me home” to go back to the main screen.
  7. The request will also appear under Notifications in the main menu.




Refill your wallet


Connect your bank account to refill your Numo wallet.

  1. Go to the main menu, tap “Settings”, select “Bank account”;
  2. Select your bank from the list;
  3. Type in the Transit Number;
  4. Type in your Account Number;
  5. Tap “Connect account” to finish.




Send money to your bank


Connect your bank account to transfer money from your Numo balance to your bank.

  1. Go to the main menu, tap “Settings”, select “Bank account”;
  2. Select your bank from the list;
  3. Type in the Transit Number;
  4. Type in your Account Number;
  5. Tap “Connect account” to finish.
